MONOTEZ S.A. was founded in the early 1960s by Valamonte family. It initially produced only boards of expanded EPS used for thermal insulation of buildings. As from the early 1970s the company’s main activity switched to the production of EPS, as a raw material under the trademark Monocell®. The annual production capacity has progressively reached the level of 70,000 tons/year.


MONOTEZ S.A. is the only company that produces EPS in Greece. It, therefore, holds a leading position in the Greek market. During the last several years, the company has increasingly emphasized in export sales for further growth. This export strategy has resulted in a strong presence of MONOTEZ S.A. in Central, Northern and Eastern Europe, as well as in the Mediterranean region. During the last three years, exports sales represented more than 90% of total annual production.

MONOTEZ S.A. addresses to medium and large size companies producing and trading thermal insulation boards and packaging materials. In the normal course of business, MONOTEZ S.A. cooperates with a large number of other companies to accommodate its needs. These include sourcing of specialized raw materials, transportation services, insurance companies etc.

On the 6th of December 2012, MONOTEZ SA was sold to RAVAGO Group. Being a member of a healthy Group of Companies, MONOTEZ S.A. had the opportunity to grow and develop its activities in Europe.

The headquarters of the company have been relocated in 2018 in the area of Maroussi Attikis, Athens. The production plant takes place in owned facilities located in the industrial zone of Inofyta, Viotia, about 50 km north of Athens. The company employs a total of 70 people.

MONOTEZ S.A. is certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015. In near future, the plant will be compliant with the ISO 50001:2011.

The main objective of the company is to maintain its rapid growth and to increase its market share, both nationally and internationally. For this purpose, the company implements a continuous investment plan regarding machinery and equipment, modern technologies and personnel training. Strong emphasis is also placed on environmental protection issues, energy saving, as well as on health and safety issues.
